We hope that your child enjoys their time at Wickers in whatever they have chosen to do, and we are sure they will enjoy being part of the Wickers family!
See below for various information about the club and the way we work.
Club Rules
The Club has adopted the guidelines issued by British Gymnastics.
All coaches, gymnasts, parents, volunteers are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct issued in the starter pack for parents and gymnasts and issued to the coaches and volunteers in their introductory packs. Any complaint or grievance must be conducted through the correct procedures, copies available on request.
Please make sure that your child has been to the toilet before the start of every session, and is not chewing gum, or eating. Long hair must be tied back neatly.
If a child has not attended for 2 consecutive sessions without prior notice or payment, their place will be offered to another child
Fee payment
Preschool fees are payable on a sessional basis. Fees for all other classes (independent, junior and competitive sessions) are payable on a half termly basis. A term at Wickers normally lasts between 6 and 8 weeks. Every gymnast receives a fee card with the terms dates and fees. This should always be returned when making fee payment as it serves as a record of payment.
Payment should be made by the second week of each term. The Club cannot accept responsibility for monies not accounted for, therefore
fees should be placed in an envelope with your childs name, session day and time on the front and the fee card should be inside with the payment
. Even if your child misses a session that still has to be paid for. The Club has administration and general running costs and each fee contributes towards this.
We are very sorry but
due to the number of returned fee cheques we have had, and each time the bank returns a cheque it costs the club £4.00,
should your cheque be returned by the bank unpaid, you will be required to add the £4.00 bank charge to the fee when you repay.
If you have had a cheque returned unpaid, we would ask that payment is then settled in cash.
Please note that refunds will not be given once payment has been accepted.
Insurance
The Club is affiliated to British Gymnastics and is covered by their insurance policy.
All children participating in Independent, Junior and Competitive sessions must be a member of British Gymnastics
. This membership covers them for every session they attend and also for any competitions or training sessions they may have at another facility whilst members of Wickers. Further information is given during your childs first week.
Dress Code
Every gymnast must be suitably dressed for his or her session. We would ask that every member of Wickers purchases the club uniform. We have a variety of club t-shirts, leotards, shorts, leggings, and sweatshirts to purchase.
If a gymnast is invited to join a squad there is a squad uniform that they are expected to purchase.
Long hair must always be tied up. There should be no watches or jewellery worn by the gymnast.
Please also make sure that your child has been to the toilet before the start of every session and is not chewing gum or eating.
For trampolining sessions gymnasts must wear socks.
Session Times
All gymnasts should arrive on time and should be dropped off and collected by a responsible adult. No gymnast will be allowed to leave the gym by themselves unless a responsible adult has spoken to the coach concerned.
Please note that we would prefer for parents not to wait in the gym during their childs session, this is due to a shortage of space and also the distraction it causes to the gymnast!
We do hold an annual club championsips to which everyone is invited so you can see the progress of your child.
School Holidays
Wickers Gymnastics and Trampolining operates during the main school terms.
All sessions at our Lancing facility run as normal during school half terms, but sessions are Worthing Leisure Centre close for half terms
. Dureing the main school holidays, holiday sessions will be organised for all members to attend at our Lancing facility during the Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks.
